Darkness may not at first seem too appealing.
That’s where the monsters lurk. That’s where our some of our greatest fears come to life and often where the most savage battles of our minds take place.
Our perspective is limited and our choices are veiled in shadow. We become lost in blackness of our pain, our regrets and our shame.
As I said, darkness may not at first seem too appealing.
But sometimes it is our perspective that gets in the way. Our minds can be cluttered with too many choices—sensory overload—and in the traffic jams and chaos of everyday life it is frequently too difficult for us to focus our minds where they need to be.
So by his grace, our God often takes into the darkness, sweeping away the interference of world. Like a masterful artist, he paints our minds in the pitch of black then begins to delicately highlight those things which he wants to reveal in our lives. With just a light touch from his glorious brush he brings out the hidden riches buried deeply in the secret places. He reveals to us the treasures of darkness that we desperately need to see and to understand.
Don’t be afraid of the darkness, for there you will find God ready to show you marvelous and wonderful things.
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. Isaiah 45:3
